Frequently Asked Questions
Is CarbTrack free?
Yes, CarbTrack is free to download on the App Store. Some advanced features may be offered through an optional subscription.
Does CarbTrack work for Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes?
Yes. CarbTrack supports anyone who counts carbs, including people with Type 1, Type 2, LADA, MODY, and gestational diabetes, as well as caregivers and parents. It works whether you use insulin pens, syringes, a pump, or no insulin at all.
Can I use CarbTrack if I do not take insulin?
Yes. Even without insulin, you can use CarbTrack to count carbs, log glucose, and see how meals affect your levels over time. The insulin calculator is optional.
Can CarbTrack calculate a correction dose?
Yes. If you enter the correction factor (insulin sensitivity factor) and target glucose your healthcare provider gives you, CarbTrack can estimate a correction dose and add it to the carb dose. It only does the arithmetic from the numbers you provide — it does not recommend or change those values.
Does CarbTrack support both mmol/L and mg/dL?
Yes. You can set your preferred blood glucose unit, and CarbTrack keeps your readings, targets, and correction factor consistent within it so dose math stays correct. Make sure the unit you choose matches the one your care plan uses.
Does CarbTrack count net carbs or total carbs?
CarbTrack records the carbohydrate amount you enter, whether that is a total or a net-carb figure. Which method to use depends on your care plan — the app does the calculation but does not decide which number to count.
How accurate is the food scanning feature?
Food scanning uses AI food recognition to estimate carbohydrates from a photo. The estimates are approximations meant to speed up logging — always verify against nutrition labels when they are available, especially before dosing insulin.
Does CarbTrack sync across devices?
CarbTrack stores your data locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest so it can be available across your devices.
Is CarbTrack a medical device?
No. CarbTrack is a mathematical calculator tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your healthcare provider before making any changes to your insulin regimen or diabetes management plan.
What data does CarbTrack collect?
CarbTrack stores your health data (glucose readings, carb intake, insulin doses) locally on your device. Profile data like preferences and settings are also stored. We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Notice for full details.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account. To cancel, go to your device Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > CarbTrack, and tap Cancel Subscription.
Is my health data secure?
Yes. Your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. If you enable cloud sync, data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption.
What age do I need to be to use CarbTrack?
You must be at least 16 years old to use CarbTrack.
How does the food scanning feature work?
CarbTrack uses AI-powered food recognition (Passio.ai) to estimate the carbohydrate content of your meals. Simply point your camera at your food and the app will provide an approximate carb estimate. Estimates are approximations — always verify with nutrition labels when available.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account from within the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account. This removes all your data. You can also email waleed@allaudintech.com to request deletion. Note: you must cancel your subscription separately through the App Store.
